Antarctic Killer Whale Identification Catalogue - sighting form.

Founded by Dr. Ingrid N. Visser in 2001, the Antarctic Killer Whale Identification Catalogue (AKWIC) is the first collaborative photo identification project for orca (also known as killer whales) in Antarctic waters.

Information is collected from various sources such as tourists and researchers.

Orca Facts...
Analysis of data aims to increase knowledge about the distribution, population dynamics, foraging behaviour and habitat requirements of killer whales in Antarctic waters.

You can contribute to AKWIC if you have sightings, photographs or video of orca from Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic waters. Once sufficient data has been compiled it will be hosted on this web site.
