This non-profit study aims to match sightings of recognisable orca (Orcinus orca), also known as killer whales, between locations and between years to learn more about the population size, natural history and habitat needs of these animals.
We would be most grateful for any contributions to the catalogue & require sighting information as well as sharp photographs or video that clearly show dorsal fin, saddle patches and / or eye patches.

Enter the details of your sighting in this online form and send it to us or follow this link and print and post the form.
* Photographers will retain copyright of their work and contact addresses will not be supplied to third parties. The New Zealand Orca Identification Catalogue will not sell images but will forward any requests for use on to photographers.
